YouCreate Custom Wardrobe Doors
Create your own unique sliding wardrobe doors using your all time favourite photography, selecting one of our beautiful graphic images or you can consider wallpapering door panels for a co-ordinated look.
Here are some frequently asked question and answers:
Q. Can I wallpaper my sliding doors?
If you would like to co-ordinate your sliding doors by wallpapering part or all of your panels then we will deliver your doors with white standard panels suitable for you to wallpaper.
If in years to come you choose to redecorate your room and the wardrobes no longer match your wallpaper you can choose to re-wallpaper the panel. We do advise that you take care when removing existing wallpaper as any damage caused will not be covered under the Sharps guarantee. Please remove with care, avoiding the use of steam wallpaper strippers or abrasive materials / tools.
Q. Do Sharps offer any graphic images I could choose?
If you want to make an impact and create sliding doors that are a real focal point in a room, then choose from the Sharps bank of graphic images. Tropical, cherry blossom, patriotic or scenic, the choice is yours. Great for kids’ or teenagers’ rooms or for mums and dads who like to express themselves – big style.
Choose one of our high quality images and let the designer know whether you want the image to fill the entire doors or just a certain section. See our YouCreate gallery
Q. Can Sharps print my own photos on my sliding doors?
Whether it’s a band of your cutest baby photos across the centre; a precious wedding shot on one panel; or your favourite holiday view emblazoned, floor to ceiling, side to side; Sharps can take the photos you’ve lovingly created and create sliding doors that are totally personal and utterly unique to you.
Any images you provide for printing cannot be enhanced by Sharps. We can only work with the image you supply which means that the quality of the printed door panel will be determined by the quality of your image. Please also ensure that the image is not slightly out of focus as this will be exaggerated when the image is increased in size for your door panel.
Q. Will my image be good enough quality for printing on a door panel?
Most of today’s latest compact cameras (8 Mega Pixel resolution or higher) and set to their highest quality setting should produce a suitable image for use on our waistband panel which is approximately 90cm wide x 70cm high (see our baby panels feature in our YouCreate gallery as an example). We would expect the file size to be at least 3MB (3,000KB).
To use a photograph which will feature over 2,3,4 full height sliding doors (see Cherry Blossom image to the right) then you would need to have taken the picture with a digital SLR camera at the highest quality setting or have purchased an image from a professional photographic company (i.e. a wedding photo). We would expect the file size to be at least 8MB-20MB (8,000-20,000KB)
Images taken on a mobile phone may not be suitable. However, if you are using one of the latest phones with an 8 mega pixel camera or higher the image may be suitable to fit our waistband panel. However we would need to check the quality of the image when proofing.
Please ensure that you own or have permission of the owner for the copyright to all images you supply to us for printing. Sharps Bedrooms Limited will not be liable for any infringement of copyright law.
Q. Do Sharps have a design tool to create my sliding doors?
We have a YouCreate design tool will allow you to have fun designing your sliding doors using either your own photography or one of our graphic images. You can also create your sliding doors using our wood glass and mirror panels.
Please be aware that uploading images to the application tool will vary in time depending on your file size and your internet speed. You can always consider reducing the size of your image before uploading. Please be aware that we reserve the right to refuse any image considered to be inappropriate. The customer is responsible for ownership of copyright, Sharps Bedrooms Limited are not liable for any infringement of copyright law.
Q. Once I have created my sliding door range using the YouCreate design tool can I save it?
Yes, at the final step of the design tool you can save your created sliding door design to your computer. We would strongly recommend that you do this if you’re planning to purchase our YouCreate sliding doors. It will benefit your Sharps designer and will be required when you upload your images to our website.
This will help us correctly position your photos on the proof that we will send you. We would advise that you reduce your image size of each photograph before uploading to the design tool as upload speeds will vary depending on your image size and internet connection.
Q. Can I use any image for my sliding doors?
As long as you own the copyright for the image and it is a suitable size then you can supply this to us for printing. Please be aware that we reserve the right to refuse any image considered to be inappropriate. Sharps Bedrooms Limited are not liable for any infringement of copyright law.
Q. What happens if I would like to change my printed sliding doors in the future?
If you would like to change your printed door you can choose to wallpaper the specific panels. Alternatively we can arrange to sell you a replacement standard door in one of our finishes at a significantly reduced cost during your guarantee period.
Q. What finishes are available for YouCreate doors?
All YouCreate doors will be supplied in a matt finish and your designer will be able to show you some sample of this. You can also consider the option of adding an acrylic panel which is available at an additional cost. Please note if you choose either the matt or acrylic option it is not possible to replace the printed panel as these are built into the door frame.
Q. Will the position of my handle affect my image?
We recommend that you use the stick handle for your sliding wardrobes. This is the smallest of our sliding door handles available, measuring at just under 8cm high x 1cm wide. The use of this handle is unlikely to impact the photography.
Q. How to clean my YouCreate sliding doors?
Our sliding wardrobe doors can be gently wiped clean using soapy water and a soft, damp cloth that has been thoroughly wrung out. Do not use solvents and abrasive cleaning materials as they may damage the surface.
Q. Does my printed sliding door come with a guarantee?
The inks we use to print images onto our sliding doors have been tested for 5 years showing no noticeable change in the colours during this time. In the years that follow only natural changes in colour may occur and this will depend on how much UV light the doors receive. Damage to the printed surface caused through use of abrasive cleaners, solvents, materials or excessive wear is not covered by our 5 year guarantee. Please use the handle to open and close wardrobe doors.
Q. Do Sharps provide a proof of my YouCreate sliding door images?
To make sure you are 100% happy with your YouCreate design before we print it on your sliding doors, we’ll send you 2 sets of proofs in the post. You will receive:
2 x A3 Digital Laser – this is to ensure you are happy with the position of the image(s) on your sliding doors
2 x A3 Epson proof – this will show part of your image at full size to ensure you are happy with the image quality.
Once you’re happy, sign and return both sets of proofs in the freepost envelope provided. Please note that while we make every effort to closely match the colours shown on the Epson paper proof, it is not always pos¬sible to provide an exact match when printing on the actual sliding door panel.
Q. How long will it take to produce and install my YouCreate sliding doors?
If you have opted to have door panels printed using one of our graphics or your own photography then please allow a little longer for us to produce and install your new bedroom (around 8-12 weeks depending how quickly we can obtain your approval on the proofs we provide).
