Moving into a new home, Helen Cleveland and her husband had the pick of the house when choosing their master bedroom. With their hearts set on a room with awkward slopes, they knew that Sharps would be able to make the most of the space and design their dream fitted wardrobes.

Last September, Helen and her husband moved into a beautiful farmhouse. When choosing their master bedroom, there was only one option for them: “We really wanted this particular room because of the multiple windows which let a lot of light in”. But without any storage and with an awkward slope in tow, the couple had a challenge on their hands to make the empty space into their perfect bedroom.

They decided to go with fitted wardrobes to work around the room’s design quirks and ordered a Sharps brochure after hearing good things. Helen tells us: “We heard about Sharps from a family member who had a fantastic experience and knew that you specialised in awkward spaces like sloping ceilings”. After looking through our brochure and falling in love with our designs, they didn’t hesitate to book a home visit with Sharps.

Helen Cleaveland

A Designer visited Helen’s home to see the bedroom in question and find out exactly what she was after. She explains, “We let him know that we wanted wardrobes down both sides of the room with our bed in the middle. He measured it all out and said what we wanted was possible, so he designed it around that”. At Sharps, every one of our wardrobes is bespoke, so like Helen’s awkwardly shaped room, we’re able to fit our wardrobes around any room quirk.

We have an array of interior storage options to choose from when designing your bespoke fitted wardrobe too, so you can tailor it to your belongings. Helen told us “My husband and I wanted a side of the room each, so we picked different interiors based on our clothes”. Opting for a mixture of long, single and double hanging as well as shelving, Helen had a place for everything.

Style wise, Helen and her husband knew exactly what they were after, “We knew we wanted white wardrobes as it would keep the room nice and bright”. Favouring traditional designs, our classic Sherbourne range was the perfect choice for them, which we angled at one end for an unexpected design finish that Helen loved: “The end 45 degree angled wardrobe creates a unique look”.

At Sharps, we also offer a variety of finishing touches to help you create a stylish, streamlined look. Helen chose matching Sharps furniture, including a dressing table, adding her own glass top, ottomans, bedside tables, a headboard and stool. Like our wardrobes, we’ll tailor these to your design needs too. Helen tells us “We chose the duck egg fabric for the ottoman, stool and headboard to match our walls”. She also wanted to feature glazed doors on her husband’s side of the room too, adding a luxury feel and a different design dimension: “The fabric that I put in behind the glazed window matches our bedroom blinds”.
