Building the perfect entertainment space for a new family
Maddie and her partner, Joel, came to Sharps to help them create bespoke fitted furniture for a number of rooms, their playroom being one. They wanted to create their dream playroom for their family and for it to be a space they could create happy memories together and form an entertainment space, which is why they came to Sharps to help them create their media unit.
Maddie and Joel were able to bring their vision to life and maximise every millimetre of space in the large room. With the media unit, they could display their TV, and also store some of their children’s toys and books, but also keep it looking decluttered and beautifully organised.

Alana Handles
Maddie chose the Alana Handles in Brushed Satin Brass that perfectly accented the White Manhattan unit.
Manhattan Range
To keep with the modernity of the house, Maddie and Joel chose the Manhattan range in White to give it a contemporary and stylish finish.
Shelving
In order to store and display their children’s books and toys, the couple incorporated plenty of shelving, which created a fun and entertaining environment.
Lighting
For the finishing touches, Maddie and Joel included lighting to brighten the space and highlight the media unit as the focal point of the space.
Q&A Maddie Says:
How did you come to choose Sharps for your wardrobes?
I had always been familiar with Sharps, largely from seeing them advertised on TV and seeing a few Youtube videos of wardrobe transformations that I was really impressed with.
Why did you decide to get fitted wardrobes in your home?
As our house is a modern new build we felt that the seamlessness of inbuilt furniture would be best suited to the style of our home and would help maximise the amount of storage we could have in each room.
Were there any awkward spaces that you needed to fit around?
We have a walk-in wardrobe which although is not an awkward shape, if it wasn’t for Sharps’ clever corner units there would have been a lot of wasted space. Fortunately, because Sharps wardrobes have the ability to have a corner fixture we have twice the amount of hanging space.
How was your design appointment?
It was brilliant, we learnt a lot about what the options were and with every idea we had, there was always the perfect solution. For instance, we really wanted to incorporate desk space in two of our bedrooms which will be kid's rooms in the future. Sharps have the perfect design which allows you to have your perfect wardrobe alongside a desk and shelving unit which was exactly what we wanted.
How was the fitting and the rest of the process?
I was incredibly impressed with the efficiency of the entire fitting process. We had 5 rooms to fit with a mixture of wardrobes, desks/shelves and an entertainment unit and they were completed in a matter of days. It was by far one of the smoothest parts of our entire build and the fitters were incredibly considerate of everything else that was going on. For instance, they suggested coming back to seal the wardrobes once the dust from the building works had settled so it would give the best finish. I was also incredibly impressed with how often we were called by the Sharps team to ensure we were happy with how things were going, the customer service was second to none.
Why did you choose Manhattan in White?
We chose the range because it was the most modern and simple which is very much our style. We went for quite neutral colours, the dove grey and white which again was perfect for our colour scheme. For the handles, we have a mix of simple round knobs and longer pull handles on our entertainment unit.
