Why did you choose Sharps?

I wanted a hassle-free, stress-free storage solution for my space and I was confident they would deliver.

Tell us about your design visit?

I was delighted to learn that the surveyor they sent used to be a Sharps installer himself. That gave me confidence that the measurements he took and the design he made would fit the space perfectly. And guess what? They certainly did!

What was the main issue that you were trying to solve with Sharps fitted furniture?

I used to have my storage on makeshift mdf shelves in my alcoves hidden behind doors. The doors made the room feel smaller and did not help with the light as the room is north-east facing and is often very dark. Using the alcoves with open shelving and storage underneath would give the illusion of more light and space.

Were there any awkward spaces in your room?

Thankfully this is a pretty straightforward space, with the only awkward area being that the walls are not straight - as to be expected with old Victorian houses. Nothing that a lick of paint could not hide though!

Tell us about your fitting experience?

It was really all very straightforward. Sharps have a super efficient process like a well-oiled machine. I contacted them about my space and requirements. They explained the process and sent a surveyor to measure and design my storage solution - it's also a free in-home design visit! They gave me a date for installation and that happened very smoothly too. I did have to get my space ready for the installation and this meant removing all old fittings and shelves and making the walls flat. Before, during and after the installation, Sharps had a customer service specialist call me regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly. She then organised all the leftover bits to be collected from my front garden so I am not left with any mess or unnecessary pieces. She called again just to make sure I am happy with the result. As I've said, a well-oiled machine with customer satisfaction at its core.

How would you describe your interior style and how does your finished design reflect this?

I find it hard to describe my interior style in one word mainly because it's evolving! In essence, I want my interiors to feel genuine and natural to me so it changes as I myself change over time. It's important to me that my style is authentic as well as functional. I am not afraid of mixing styles, patterns, colours and periods so I guess you can say there definitely is an eclectic feel to it. I love mixing vintage and contemporary pieces together and anything that I love and brings joy is always welcome. However, I hate clutter and always aim to have some kind of order in my space whether that be maximalist or otherwise. I love my new shelves because I can arrange my stuff in an organised manner on them without the clutter. The lower cabinets act as very useful storage areas for my equipment and other things that I want to hide away. It has worked out perfectly.

What do you love most about your Sharps furniture?

I actually love that it came in a nice Willow Green colour and I didn't have to paint it! Saved me a job! The fitted storage as a whole feels like it has always been there - it feels at home in my space and that's really important to me. Oh and let me not forget to mention the dimmable mood lighting which is also great for my plants - absolutely essential in my NE-facing home.

What is your favourite part of your fitted furniture?

Can I just say that the handles are exquisite! These are the Elizabeth range in brushed brass and they are absolutely stunning.

What are you most looking forward to making beautifully organised?

I am so looking forward to organising my photography equipment and office documents inside the cabinets. These are the primary reasons for the enclosed storage - absolutely essential to have somewhere to hide stuff! As to the open shelves, I am determined to display what I already have including my plants so that I am not buying anything new to display - this is part of how I want my home to feel authentic and not "off the shelf" as it were.

Why would you recommend Sharps?

The ease of the process and Sharps' commitment to serving the customer well would be my top two reasons why I recommend Sharps. I still cannot believe how hassle-free the process was and Sharps organising for rubbish clearance at the end was the icing on the cake. Having a dedicated customer service staff who phoned me every day during the build and before and after meant I didn't have to keep chasing the company for little questions or issues that may have arisen. It has been a very good experience and I am delighted with everything.
