Abigail’s landing had ample room for storage. But after talking with a number of fitted furniture providers, she struggled to find a brand that could unlock the potential of her space and create a solution sympathetic to her beautiful period home.
That all changed when she found Sharps. She ran through her ideas with her Sharps designer to create timelessly elegant fitted wardrobes that exceeded her expectations. How did you find Sharps?
From start to finish I was kept informed. I feel the wardrobes have been definitely worth the money for the space it's given me. The fitting was done efficiently and the fitter was very clean leaving no mess behind.
Why did you choose Sharps?
I had a look at other companies first, some that supplied but didn't have a joiner to fit, then some that did everything from start to finish but could only do sliding wardrobes. I have a Georgian house and I wanted something that was in keeping with the property but also didn't spoil the character and features by removing the picture rail etc. Sharps were able to do this and they provided me with drawings of exactly how it would look, rather than just an explanation.
Tell us about your design visit?
The lady was extremely knowledgeable, she went through more options than I even thought possible for a wardrobe, which has now created storage that not only works but looks good too.
What was the main issue that you were trying to solve with Sharps fitted furniture?
I wear a lot of dresses so needed long length space which a normal wardrobe doesn't allow, or if it does, you lose space at the bottom.
Were there any awkward spaces in your room?
Yes, my ceilings are really high and I have a beam across the ceiling and also the Georgian picture rails - now the wardrobe has fit into that space without losing the character of the house.
Tell us about your fitting experience?
The fitter was amazing. Very thorough and precise. He cleaned every speck of dust after himself. I was made aware that he would need a large space to cut and build in, which was provided and he cleaned the room afterwards.
How would you describe your interior style and how does your finished design reflect this?
The interior wasn't what I thought it would be. I just expected simple rails across the top. After the design process and working out what items of clothing I need to be hanging up then shelves for bags and shoes, it just all came together perfectly. So now my wardrobe isn't just for hanging clothes - even my accessories have space.
What do you love most about your Sharps furniture?
I love the matt finish and the gold handles - it's elegant, classy and has the perfect finish to go with my Georgian home.
What is your favourite part of your fitted furniture?
My dress section - it's just ideal and nothing needs to crease because my dresses have space.
What furniture interiors did you choose and why?
Dress section, 3 top/trouser sections then shelf spaces.
