Hannah styled the most recent photo shoot for Sharps and explains how she created the 'marbled' look in a bedroom setting.

How did you decide on the unusual colour scheme?

The wallpaper completely dictated the colour scheme of the room. White, midnight blue and tan became my palette. I used the very dark blue on the upholstered bed and headboard, which is from the Sharps range. The rust orange rug was a perfect match for the tan in the wallpaper, and I also used lots of tan leather accessories in the room to tie it all together.

It was also important to maintain a lot of white in the room, to work with the wardrobes and the white of the wallpaper. Grey is a neutral and will work with any scheme so I knew the flooring and grey concrete accessories would work well.

What tips would you give to successfully create this look?

Choose a metal and use it throughout. Here I used gold, which is quite unexpected against the concrete and minimal vibe, but it gives the room an edge. You can see it in the ceiling down lights, bedside lights, light switches, plug sockets, mirror and even photo frames.

Finally, even with a simple contemporary design, don't skimp on fabrics as they make a bedroom layered and cosy. The rug, full length curtains, upholstered headboard and canvas chair are really important in the scheme.
