Seamlessly blending storage into traditional spaces

Lucy’s countryside cottage was full of historic charm and original features. The only thing it didn’t provide was much storage space.

To make better use of an awkward corner of her bedroom, Lucy got in touch with Sharps to create a tailor-made storage solution for herself and her husband.

The end result is a set of picture-perfect fitted wardrobes that capture the unique character of their inviting home.

“Lucy turned to Sharps to give an awkward part of her bedroom new purpose.

We designed custom fitted wardrobes to hug the sloped ceiling and blend into the room design.

Q&A Lucy Says:

How did you find Sharps?

I booked a design visit with Richard who came to the cottage and talked us through the process step-by-step, showed us the different designs (physically) and helped us pick what would suit the space best. A few weeks later the product arrived and was installed in just under two days. It was a really quick process from start to finish, and overall I was so impressed with the look, feel and style of the product. It has hugely changed our bedroom and made the space extremely pleasant and relaxing to be in.

Why did you choose Sharps?

For efficiency! We felt the products looked seamless and elegant and were (and are) exactly what we were looking for.

Richard visited us and was very friendly and made us feel at ease with the awkward space we had. He was very professional, knew the products really well and took us through the stages step-by-step, whilst helping us pick the perfect product for the space. We looked at different options and overall ended up going for something a bit different to what we originally intended, and I think it looks brilliant. He had a selection of doors and knobs available for us to look at so we could see exactly what they would look like. We were really happy with the visit and decided to move forwards with the fit. What Richard helped us pick fits perfectly into the room and actually makes the space feel much bigger.

What was the main issue that you were trying to solve with Sharps fitted furniture?

We had a very dark, awkward space in the corner of our room. We wanted somewhere to hide away all our clothes, shoes and bags in a neat and tidy space.

Were there any awkward spaces in your room?

Yes, the wall was very off angle and the ceiling was as well. Not that you would be able to tell now the wardrobes are fitted.

Tell us about your fitting experience.

Brilliant, I was so happy with the entire process that I have recommended Sharps to friends, family and happily to my fanbase on social media. We are even looking at getting bookshelves fitted downstairs now.

How would you describe your interior style and how does your finished design reflect this?

We live in a very old thatched cottage, so the house has beams, deep windows and lots of character. It is quite dark in spaces with little to no storage, so it was really important for us to fit in a wardrobe that brightened the space whilst giving us some excellent storage solutions. I love a cosy, homely and light aesthetic to my home whilst adding in little touches that reflect our personalities (mine and my husband’s) like books on the windowsill, candles, wreaths on doors and cosy spaces for our cats to sit.

What do you love most about your Sharps furniture?

The way it looks like it has always been there. It fits perfectly and has genuinely made such a difference to our room.

What is your favourite part of your fitted furniture?

The way it fits perfectly up to the wall. I was saying to my husband the other evening just how great it is and that it matches really well with our aesthetics and style.

What are you most looking forward to making beautifully organised?

I have since colour coordinated my husband's shirts and my tops. They are now in colour order and style (i.e. jumpers together).

What furniture interiors did you choose and why?

We bought our cottage back in the summer and it was quite tired, old and needed everything taken out. There was previously a very old slatted wardrobe in place that didn’t utilise the space to its full potential. We removed this (along with everything else in the room), decorated it and decided that we really needed to use the space and add in fitted wardrobes. That was when I started my research and came across Sharps and instantly booked a design visit!

Why would you recommend Sharps?

Elegant, quick, efficient and great quality. The team that came to the cottage (from start to end) were all really friendly and approachable and I thoroughly enjoyed the process and would genuinely recommend Sharps to anyone looking to fit an awkward space like we were.
