Why did you choose Sharps?
I had actually used Sharps for our previous home and we were beyond impressed with the fitted furniture they created for us there so we knew they were the perfect choice for our new home. Sharps really do take pride in their work regardless of what stage of the process, whether giving experienced advice in the design stage or the accuracy in their final measurement appointment to really guarantee the perfect finish.
Tell us about your design visit?
Funnily enough, our designer was the same gentleman that helped us design our last project so it was lovely to see a familiar face and have a catch-up over a coffee. From having a home account on Instagram, I’ve always had an eye for design and always looking for inspiration from others so I had a vision of exactly what I wanted for our new master bedroom. What I loved about our designer was that I could trust in his opinion and advice from his knowledge of the company and how the fitting works, so when I suggested having bigger drawers he knew that it wouldn’t work if we also wanted to have the right size space for hanging clothes as well.
What was the main issue that you were trying to solve with Sharps fitted furniture?
The previous owner had a very dated fitted wardrobe with a sliding door that no longer worked so we knew we had to knock it down and start fresh. Unlike last time we didn’t have any awkward spaces, like a sloping roof, we just wanted to max our potential storage space, which you just don’t get with freestanding wardrobes.
Tell us about your fitting experience?
We were given a date of when our fitting would be and I had many updates from sharps themselves as reminders which was fabulous given we had so many other renovating projects going on. When the fitter arrived he knew exactly what needed to be done and went straight to it, keeping us aware of progress as well as tidying up after himself.
Why did you choose the Shaker range in White for your fitted wardrobes?
I’m an absolute lover of neutrals and earthy tones, which is what I was planning for in our new reno home. I already knew I wanted to paint a feature wall in a sage colour so straight away the wardrobe colour had to be white to help keep the room light as well as be a great colour match against the green. The shaker-style cupboard was an absolute must because despite the traditional style it still has an edge of modernism, given that we don’t plan to move for another 20 years now (we shall see!) I wanted a timeless look, which this provides.
What do you love most about your Sharps furniture?
My favourite feature has to be the pelmet lights; they just make the wardrobes look so stylish and luxurious, I’m absolutely obsessed!
What are you most looking forward to making beautifully organised?
I’d say it would have to be my array of designer handbags, proudly displayed on the top shelf. However, I absolutely adore styling around the wardrobes with the doors closed as they make the most beautiful backdrop for content on my home account.
