What was the overall vibe for this room?
I wanted to create a sleek, contemporary space with a loft style hotel vibe. The floating wall and large crittal window with city view were integral to the style. Think minimal design hotels such as the Ace hotel chain.
How did you choose the paint?
I chose a dark grey on the walls, including the floating wall behind the bed - Night Jewels 3 by Dulux. It works well with the dove grey wardrobe doors and creates a bold backdrop for the unexpected colour scheme. The muted greens, pastel pinks and pale blue are framed really well.
Which design elements were most important?
The low simple Scandi bed was important and mimicked the low wall. Heals and Habitat are great for wooden styles like this. The wall mounted double lights, from Graham and Green, really create a feature with their angular sculptural style. I styled the open wardrobe storage very cleanly and simply using the same colour palette to give a streamlined look to the room.
