Our future targets

For our environmental strategy, we’re striving to make it as far-reaching as possible. From examining our own processes, to partnering with the right people or helping ecological projects further afield, we’re leaving no stone unturned.

Sharps is also proud to be partnered with Forest Carbon to assist in preserving the environment for future generations.

Responsibly sourced from forest to home

A lot of thought goes into the materials we use in our bespoke fitted furniture. Whilst ensuring it’s the best quality for the job, most importantly, all the wood for the main construction of our fitted furniture comes from recycled or sustainable sources:

40% reused from timber yard cut-offs (created during the machining process)

40% recycled from old furniture or pallets

20% is sustainably sourced from forests that comply with the FSC® (Forestry Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). Ensuring all trees are replaced and no damage is created in the foresting activity.

Investing in our processes

moving our fleet forward

moving our fleet forward

Our company car fleet is now almost 100% hybrid, with the aim of being fully electric by 2025.

Our HGV fleet vehicles operate Euro 6 engines which produce the smallest amount of CO2 commercially available.

packaging everything with care

Packaging everything with care

Every element of your order is packaged with care to ensure it reaches you in perfect condition.

Our cardboard packaging is 100% FSC® certified (Forest Stewardship Council FSC® C100100). This means that all our materials follow a chain of custody right back to a sustainably managed source.

transforming how our factory and showrooms use energy

Transforming how our factory and showrooms use energy

We use 100% renewable energy throughout our business, from showrooms to factory.

This means we create no emissions when using energy, impacting greatly on lowering our carbon emissions.

Cutting back on waste

Cutting back on waste

99% of our manufacturing waste now avoids landfill through recycling. Our goal is 100% avoidance through removing non-recyclable waste from our processes.

We have also reduced our paper usage throughout the business by nearly 60% during 2023. By 2024, we want to reduce it by another 20%.

Working with people we trust

We only partner with companies who care about the environment just as much as we do. All of our suppliers are audited on their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) approach to make sure we’re working with people whose goals and values are aligned with ours.
