Wonderfully luxe, timelessly elegant

Paula Denham’s followers on her Instagram account @homewiththedenhams love watching her home renovation take shape, room by room.

And after so many months of living out of cardboard boxes at her parents’ home, she was ready to create fitted wardrobes that would complement her beautiful property.

Though Paula is a big fan of DIY solutions, her bedroom definitely needed a professional touch.

Sharps made her tailor-made storage a reality and helped her to create a lavish hidden en-suite feature.

“It’s the understated luxury of Paula’s design which makes it so captivating. She combined our Manhattan range in Stone with the Brushed Brass finish of our Luna handles to create a chic look that adds plenty of style to her bedroom.

With our unique Sharps Space+ formula, there’s no wasted space. Her bespoke fitted wardrobes give her maximum storage from wall to wall and floor to ceiling.

The icing on the cake is the dramatic reveal to her hidden en-suite. Luxurious design doesn’t get much better than this.”

Q&A Paula Says:

How did you find Sharps?

The whole process was such a dream. From initial consultation to the designer coming to measure up, and the installation, it was seamless. I was kept informed throughout the whole process which was important because for me communication is key.

Why did you choose Sharps?

I’d had some fitted wardrobes back in my old flat in 2016, so I knew Sharps was brilliant quality. The huge range of colours, finishes and styles made Sharps the front runner when it came to picking wardrobes. They’re an investment, and one that you don’t want to get wrong.

I had a good idea of the style that I wanted as I’d browsed the Sharps website, however it’s always good to have a look at the samples in real life - I actually changed my mind on the handles after seeing the ones that we eventually got. The designer was great and was able to talk through recommendations on the various features that we could have in the wardrobes, including where is best to put drawers and full-length mirrors. He was able to quickly update the CAD drawings which made it super easy for me to see how it was going to turn out.

What was the main issue that you were trying to solve with Sharps fitted furniture?

My husband and I are both really organised people. Having clothes in various boxes, on clothes rails and even some at my parents’ house was a nightmare! We wanted one place where all of our clothes could fit in and we knew where everything was. Enter Sharps!

Were there any awkward spaces in your room?

I like to try my hand at DIY, but this was not the time for it - it was well beyond my skill set! There were 2 main intricacies with this space which were essential for a professional to design and fit. The first was the unusual shape of the room - we have vaulted ceilings, which makes DIYing wardrobes that bit more tricky. Secondly, one of the sets of double doors leads into our en-suite, a “secret bathroom” if you will, so making sure the doors and shape of the wardrobe fitted perfectly around that hole in the wall was essential.

Tell us about your fitting experience?

Our fitter, Trevor, was brilliant! He worked really quickly and accurately, and managed to get the job done in less time than we expected! He also cleared up after himself so there was minimal dust left behind.

How would you describe your interior style and how does your finished design reflect this?

Warm minimalism, soft scandi, with a little bit of boujiness. I think this is reflected perfectly in the wardrobes. We opted for completely plain doors but added the excitement in the handles. I’m obsessed with them!

What do you love most about your Sharps furniture?

The simple elegance. The fact that I am no longer living out of boxes. The impact the wardrobes make when walking into my bedroom. The ease at which I can find all my clothes. Do I really have to pick only one?!

What is your favourite part of your fitted furniture?

Again, so difficult to pick one, but the handles are just…*chefs kiss*

What are you most looking forward to making beautifully organised?

Honestly just knowing where everything is! Having lived out of various boxes for 2.5 years, trying to find an item of clothing that I hadn’t worn in a year was a challenge to say the least. Now I have all of my clothes on view when I open the doors, and I keep them in colour order - sad I know but it’s still a novelty having clothes hung up!

What furniture interiors did you choose and why?

The finish is a wood style finish which just oozes “premium”. For the features, we have long and short hanging rails, drawers with the gorgeous handles, and internal full-length mirrors on the inside of 2 of the wardrobe doors which are great as it means we don’t have to take up space in our bedroom with a large mirror.

Why would you recommend Sharps?

If you’re looking for an amazing quality service and product, that will last for years, and is stunningly beautiful, go for Sharps! If you’re not, then try elsewhere…
